Hi, Welcome to the Kindle Covers site. Have a browse to find the best Kindle Cover reviews and news on-line. Or if you are in a hurry check out the links at the side to be redirected to the biggest range of Kindles and Cases in the UK.

Our most important goal is to help you find the Best Kindle Cover to suit your needs. Here are our current favourite contenders available in Britain:

With new Kindle covers being released for both the Kindle 4 and the keyboard Kindle 3 all the time, we thought it would be worth having a little round up of the very best cases, covers and sleeves available today:

Here are our top 3 covers for each type of Kindle.

Best New Kindle 4 Covers

Please note we find amazon is still the best place to purchase covers, in terms of both price, quality and most importantly perhaps, fit.

You can view all the featured Kindle covers and sleeves.

or read on to find out which ones we recommend, and why…

1 Belkin Grip Kindle Sleeves

First up is the Belkin Grip Neoprene Sleeve for the new Kindle. We have a few reasons for choosing this particular model:

The price. So many great covers and cases cost too much (we believe) when you consider the low price of the new eReader itself. At the time of writing these Grip sleeves are being sold for under 15 quid which we think is a bit more realistic.

The grippy panel on the front means you really cannot seem to drop your reader, even on the busy tube!

Good colour choices.

Zips up securely.

Good padding – but not overly large or heavy.

The Kindle slides out totally for reading. Personally I am not a fan of those covers which add corner tabs or straps to keep the device in place. The best reading pleasure is surely to be had with the “naked” Kindle, light and ergonomic – and with such a sleeve that’s exactly what you get.

Neoprene construction gives you some degree of protection against liquids and means it is hand washable.

2 Built Kindle Sleeves

We have loved these since the beginning. The new slimmer fit for the Kindle 4 has not disappointed. However I have to be honest – the fit isn’t quite as snug as it used to be for the keyboard version. This is because in the US (where the Kindle Touch is actually on sale) Built are selling this cover to suit both the touch and the 4th generation models. They are similar in size, but not identical and it shows. This might be slim but because it is built to hold the slightly larger touch-screen model I wouldn’t go holding it upside-down like I can with the Kindle keyboard version.

I know they are a little on the expensive side. But, these are so convenient, fluffy, fun and colourful I had to include them again!

3 Amazon Leather Kindle Cover

Yes I know it is pricey! And that is why I tried desperately hard not to include it in our run down of the best new Kindle cases. However, when you look at the alternatives if you are after a book style jacket, this one beats them hands down.

For a start much of the competition relies on corner straps which are untidy and I find annoying since the design of the reader itself is so clean and sleek. Secondly the prices, for anything even approaching half way decent in terms of quality, are usually almost the same. For a few pounds more (and that really is all you’re paying if you want a leather jacket), the Amazon own covers are the better choice.

Best Kindle Keyboard Covers

This is a bit tougher. The fact that the device itself is more expensive means that we are a little more open to spending a bit more on a case for it! Also, since it has been with us for a few years now there is ample choice, from super budget, to high end luxury. But which 3 cases do we recommend?

Read on and find out!

1. Lighted Kindle Keyboard Cover

This is pretty pricey I know. But, if you want a decent light it is not actually a bad price.

Because I prefer a sleeve type cover personally I hunted for a reading light that lit the whole screen and didn’t go through batteries like crazy. I eventually settled on an Octovo clip on light instead after trying a few cheaper models. But at around twenty quid for such a good light you can see that the lighted cover itself is priced as you would expect. After all the light is great and importantly, it is always to hand since it slips into the back cover when not being used.

2 Belkin Pleated Kindle Keyboard Sleeve

I like that this is simple, yet really functional. The pleated pocket expands to hold just about anything you could want to accompany your Kindle.

Plus of course it is cheaper!

Because it zips up tight and secure this is the kind of case most suited to a crazy messy hand-bag – nothing is going to get in there and mess up your display!

Personally I don’t see why it is nearly double the price of the Grip version for the smaller reader detailed above – but that’s the only negative I can come up with for these sleeves!

3. Built Kindle Keyboard Sleeves

Yes, I’ve mentioned these before! But the simple style and amazing tight fit just keeps me coming back to the Built sleeves for the Kindle keyboard – I am sad enough to own a few colours now though ScatterDot remains the favourite!

As I write these are out of stock. And, it seems a lot of other previously popular keyboard covers are out of stock too. I wonder if the manufacturers know something we can only suspect… is the Kindle keyboard to disappear from the UK store sometime soon?

I wouldn’t be surprised so if you want a new cover for a keyboard model I guess it is probably time to act fast if you want any choice!

Well it cannot be long before the Kindle 4 is released. To date we cannot be sure what Amazon have in store for gadget fans. One thing that we can definitely be sure of though, is that if you buy one you will also need to buy a new Kindle 4 cover for it, as there is no chance that the current crop of cases and sleeves will fit a new generation Amazon reader!

Kindle 4 Ideas

There are countless possibilities, and so far Amazon are letting nothing slip. But could the next generation reader be significantly different to the current version? We thinks so for sure:

Touch Screen Reader

Since Amazon bought out TouchCo in 2010 the rumour mill has been waiting for a touch-screen Kindle. If that were to be in the cards then no cases currently produced are likely to fit. After all the entire size of the device would probably be reduced, getting rid of the keypad used currently could knock inches off the overall size of the reader.

A Colour Kindle

It is perfectly possible for Amazon to use a colour e-ink display for their ebook reader. It would have the same low energy, and easy to read display, but could show full colour. The drawback is that currently e-ink screens just do not show the vibrant colours we are used too. You can see colour e-ink in action here. The picture shows it used by Chinese ebook reader builder Hanvon.

Although it is impressive it just doesn’t wow like colourful LCD back-lit displays do. Great for a newspaper but not so interesting for children’s stories, and frankly we really don’t see Amazon going down this route at the moment since we don’t think consumers will want to pay a premium for muted colours.

Kindle Tablet

It seems more likely that Amazon will simply produce a tablet or two. We’re hearing at the moment that two such products are imminent. A Kindle for Movies with a large 10″ display and super fast processor, and an entry level 7″ tablet that might just be the long awaited colour Kindle.

Expect these tablets to change significantly over the next few years. Hybrid displays using both LCD and e-ink are in the works and would mean a tablet could finally function as a dedicated ebook reader, properly, without tiring your eyes and keeping you up at night!

Kindle 4 Covers

Whatever shape the new Kindle comes in, we’ll be investigating all the very best cases and covers on offer to protect it! There should be heaps of them since the Kindle is proving so exceptionally popular in the UK.

For a unique take on the ubiquitous Kindle jacket, check out the M-Edge Latitude Kindle covers available here.

Jacket style covers are great, but sometimes they don’t quite offer up as much protection as we might like for the device inside. The Latitude cover from M-Edge combines a jacket form, with a much more protective carry case or sleeve.

When open the Latitude is similar in form to the Trip Kindle cover. Four corner straps keep the Kindle in place and provide access to all the controls.

When shut, things are very different and altogether more sporty. With its tough nylon exterior and double zipper this case is going to really protect the device. It’s not waterproof but you can see that even the odd spill should be repelled well enough. Because the zips keep the whole thing closed properly there is no danger of anything getting inside the cover and damaging the screen when your Kindle is riding in your bag.

The double zipper also means you can charge the ebook reader whilst still in its nearly completely closed case. And, if that wasn’t enough you can also use the zips to secure the case open as well as closed, which makes for comfortable one handed reading with no cover flapping around in the way.

Inside is soft fleece lining to help avoid scratches. Between the nylon outer and fleece lining is a strong core material to absorb shocks and bumps.

The M-Edge Latitude is definitely a practical Kindle cover. On the front is a large zip up pocket that will expand out to hold all sorts of stuff including the charger. At the back is a flatter profile pocket that will happily hold your M-Edge book light if you have one.

M-Edge are so confident that all their covers are such good quality that they offer a life-time warranty on the entire range. Customer reviews of the Latitude Kindle cover can be found via the links at the top of the page. The brand is still not one of the most well known in the UK. But on the US site over 300 reviews have already been written by customers, giving the case an average 4.5 out of 5 stars, impressive indeed!

The M-Edge Trip Kindle cover range includes four great colours. Designed to be light, comfortable to hold and offer great protection, these are a great choice for anyone wanting a good quality Kindle jacket.

The M-Edge Trip covers are some of the best selling cases for the Kindle reader in the US, and they are gaining popularity in the UK too. This is largely down to the simple design being so well executed. They offer good quality protection at a reasonable price, and in a good range of colours too.

Weighing in at only just over 5 ounces these aren’t going to spoil your reading experience. The front cover folds back completely and can be held in place using the over-sized elastic strap which makes for a really comfortable one handed reading experience.

The exterior is hard wearing canvas that has been given a ScotchGard™ coating so it should repel stains and be simple to keep looking as good as new. Inside is a soft cream microsuede lining that is perfect for ensuring the display remains free from scratches.

The four corner tabs that keep the ebook reader locked in place are tight enough to be secure, and small enough to stay out of the way so that you can access all controls. The power slider is quite near the top corner tab though, which some people might find annoying but it is something that is always the case with this style of jacket.

If you want a reading light to enjoy using your ebook reader at night, this case is compatible with the e-Luminator Booklight from M-Edge. The flat arm of the reading light slips into the small pocket on the right of the Kindle so you always have your light handy, a little like buying one of the lighted Kindle covers, but cheaper (though you will need to consider batteries.

If you want something similarly high quality, with a more sporty look check out the M-Edge Latitude Kindle cover instead.

All in all, we are pretty impressed with the M-Edge Trip Kindle Cover. You can view all customer reviews for this particular ebook reader case by clicking the image at the top.

If you are looking for a simple, stylish and affordable Kindle cover why not check out the 7dayshop Kindle covers available here.

Available in a wide range of colours the 7dayshop range includes stylish jacket style covers such as that pictured, as well as smart silicone skins. To keep your Kindle ebook reader looking great, without spending an arm and a leg, the 7dayshop has got it covered.

True this is not a high quality leather cover, instead PU leather which is hard wearing and looks good has been chosen for the exterior. Inside is a soft microfibre lining to protect the display.

The front cover is reinforced so that in the case you bash the reading device, it should hopefully survive. Inside is a handy (perhaps) slip pocket. I would only think you would want to put papers in their though as it is opposite the Kindle’s all important screen and we wouldn’t want anything spoiling that.

The cover closes by way of a simple magnetic clasp. Some folks are a little wary of magnets near electronics but these are so weak to be of no concern and are widely used for lots of gadget accessories.

The Kindle is held inside the jacket using 4 corner clasps, which are a cheap alternative to the more secure, yet also more fiddly hinge system used by other cases and covers.

There are loads of colours to choose from, and all priced at around a tenner which is excellent value for money. To view customer reviews of these Kindle covers just click the image above. There you will find the entire colour range on offer too. For style, a lightweight feel and a slim look, all on a budget the 7dayshop range of covers, skins and cases is an excellent choice.

The Timbuk2 Kindle Sleeve has been one of the most popular simple pouches for ebook readers in the States for the last few years.

These are now available for both the keyboard, and smaller new Kindle.

Available for UK buyers that want nothing getting in the way of just how comfortable the Kindle is to use, whilst keeping it safe and sound when you are busy doing other things. The Timbuk2 range comes in a variety of different color ways, and with different degrees of cushioning for the device inside.

You can view the entire range available for sale via the links to the left. We have pictured our current favorite which is one of the more simple solutions, but made with a quirky sense of style and choice of colors.

The tough nylon exterior is easy to clean and really lightweight which is important if you key reason for getting this ebook reader in the first place, was its portability. The quality is a lot better than cheaper envelope style cases, which you would expect seeing as these have been popular in America for the last few years and Timbuk2 have had plenty of time to get the specification perfect. The stitching adds reinforcement and cushions the reader a little more than one might expect.

There are two options, the more simple, and more lightweight model pictured, all a more seriously quilted version with thicker softer furry lining. These are still relatively new to the UK, and since most people are swayed by heavy advertising for jacket style covers, there are few customer reviews to view. But having headed over to the US store to see what customers there think, we’re happy that Timbuk2 Kindle sleeves are just as good as we thought. Even the Velcro is better than expected and unlikely to disappear as it can do with cheaper products.

The choice of Kindle covers is growing daily. Belkin have a number of sleeves available that we have looked at. All offer a simple solution that allows you to enjoy the Kindle perhaps at its best, that is to say unencumbered by any additional jacket or cover.

We last looked at their ridiculously simple Knitted Kindle sleeve. But if you want something a little more secure, far more robust and with a whole heap of extra protection for your ebook reader, something like the Belkin Vue is probably more up your street.

Belkin Vue for Kindle

The Belkin Vue sleeve is another neoprene Kindle case. We are huge fans of neoprene here at the Kindle Covers UK site. The fact that this is the stuff wetsuits are made from, should give you an idea about just how tough it is. You won’t rip it, scratch it, and it will prove useful if you tip a drink on it (though it isn’t of course totally waterproof). Importantly for something that will be in and out of bags and hands, neoprene is simple to clean too.

What differentiates the Belkin Vue from their other sleeves for the Kindle, is the front pocket. Not super large you should get a book-light or your USB charger in there with no difficulty. For the ever forgetful the fact that the pocket has a see through cover means you can see whether you have put in all the essentials you intended!

The soft lining will help ensure the display stays clear and scratch free, whilst a reinforced panel further protects the screen should you knock the device whilst inside.

All in all, this is on a par with the entire Belkin range of Kindle covers, so a firm thumbs up from us. The only issue is that the entire color choice does seem to come in and out of stock a little, so you may have to wait a little if you really want the coral pink case!

Belkin have reworked their range to include plenty of new Kindle covers for the smaller eReader too.

Click for Belkin Knit Kindle Sleeves

For many of us the beauty of the Kindle is its simplicity and the comfortable way it feels in the hand. If this illustrates your attitude to your ebook reader the chances are you aren’t looking for a book style jacket or folio that will add weight and bulk. To use the reading device as originally intended “naked” so to speak, a simple sleeve or sock that will protect it when not in use, but slip off quickly when you do want to read is probably all you need.

There are more robust Belkin Kindle sleeves around with zips, pockets and lots of padding for the device inside. But if your reader is likely to spend most of its life either in your hands, or in your bag, a simple sock such as the Belkin Knit, or Built sleeve for Kindle could be all you require.

Belkin Knit Kindle Sleeve

Made from polyester fibers, the knitted sock should be extremely durable. This also means it is relatively easy to keep clean, with a hand-wash in mild soapy water. It is double layered so the soft lining should stop any scratches damaging the display of your ebook reading device. This is very simple. Now for some, that makes it idea. But of course you could get far better protection for your gadget if you want, and for a similar price.

This is really most suitable for those that aren’t clumsy, and do carry their gadgets around in a bag most of the time. I wouldn’t want to drop an ebook reader in or out of this simple sock as it is unlikely to do a great deal to protect it. However, for stopping all the debris, bits and bobs in your bag bumping up against the Kindle, this will do very well.

There is no zipper, which makes this a convenient slip case, but it also means that you could of course tip your gadget out if you weren’t careful. Hopefully the contrast stripe that is added to the open end should prevent you doing this though.

I guess the Belkin Knit Kindle sleeve is brilliant for some, and an utter waste of time for others. If you are really clumsy, or simply prefer your ebook reader to feel more traditionally like a real book in your hands, look elsewhere for a jacket style case instead. But if simplicity is your thing, go for it as this knitted sock will do well at keeping your Kindle clean and scratch free.

Belkin have released new Kindle sleeves to fit the non keyboard eReader too.

Today we have a cheap Kindle case with built in stand, flip-style! What’s more it is leather and it’s adjustable, but only costs around a tenner…

Duragadget Kindle Case With Stand – Click for Full Range

Please note the Duragadget Kindle cases come in two sizes – one for the keyboard model, and one for the newer Kindle. If you want something versatile, economical and slim-line enough to actually be in keeping with the new tiny Kindle 3, Duragadget have the cover for you. This is a case that doubles as a flexible stand. The back has grooves for you to prop the ebook reader at a variety of angles which is something not many Kindle cases bother with. How important that is will of course depend on how much you love your “hands-free” reading. But even if it is of no concern, for a leather cover this one is pretty impressive.

The inside is PU leather which isn’t really leather at all, but its tough and stronger than the genuine soft leather used on the outside. Now if you are after a high quality leather case you’re looking at the wrong one. I am very fond of this particular design, and for the money it is spot on. But luxury it certainly isn’t, nor should you expect it to be for a tenner!

What I think is rather good about this particular Kindle cover is the slim design. Yes of course it adds a little weight to your reader, but less than you would expect, and it looks good, without taking up too much space in my bag. For cheap and cheerful that “does what it says on the tin” and isn’t a total let down you really can’t beat it!

Fancy a change from all those leather covers? Check out the Hemp Kindle Covers from Eco-Nique:

Two versions are available of this Hemp Kindle Case. They both feature soft natural hemp and cotton as their main material, with faux leather panels inside for pockets and the Kindle sleeve itself. A magnetic clasp folds over the top to make sure the ebook reader stays put once you slot it into its pocket, which is a great improvement on earlier designs.

Eco-Nique Kindle cases come from i-Nique (the same guys that make the Tuff Luv Kindle covers), and you can tell. These are strong and sturdy yet a little bit different with their embroidery detailing and use of such a versatile material.

There are two versions of the case. The first has a flip over front cover that folds right back out of the way and has a pop out stand at the back should the desire to read “hands-free” over your Cornflakes, take hold. This is the “Tree of Life” cover.

The second is a more traditional book style jacket like many others but with a twist.

Both cases use a slide in pocket for the Kindle to actually fit into. This means you don’t have hinges that some people find a bother, and you don’t rely on corner straps that can be a little less than secure. A strap folds over the top opening once the reader is inside to make sure it stays there.

At the back are mesh openings for the speakers, which is a cool idea now that the Kindle has a reasonable MP3 Player function.

The cases stay closed with the help of a magnetic clasp. I have to admit I am not generally a fan of these but so far it looks good, and the customer reviews (you can view them through the links above) are glowing so I must be wrong if the magnetic clasps are of a high enough quality to keep working. I do like a case that closes securely for when my ebook reader is being carted around in my bag as there is so much stuff in there I do worry something will get inside and scratch the screen, if the cover doesn’t shut properly.

My only issue with the Eco-Nique Kindle Covers is that “faux leather” used for the pockets and pen holders inside. I know it is practical but I really like the hemp fabric and it is a shame they couldn’t have used more of this, or something else that feels more natural. But then, I guess I would have been happier with real leather, but this cover is hoping to tap into the non-leather wearing Kindle consumer I guess. It is only a minor complaint as overall this is a nice, and slightly different more natural take on the ubiquitous (and often rather mundane) book style Kindle jacket.
