First up is the the U-Bop Neo-ORBIT Leather Case. In a baby-doll pastel pink this one is selling well at the moment. I guess the pretty low price tag is helping. The U-Bop range seem to be priced at about half that of similar competition, not bad for a brand well known for making jackets and sleeves for all manner of personal electronics.

So what do you get for under fifteen quid?
Well firstly, this isn’t leather at all. Oh the description says leather but look at the product details and you will see it is actually made of a combination of neoprene and PVC. Now that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Neoprene is a pretty tough material. But why the misleading description – come on it puts me off before I even start! And the thing is, I like this cover. I also love the red version and am pretty fond of the purple on too. But I would love them even more if they didn’t hint at being made of leather when they aren’t!
They look pretty good, and being synthetic they are really easy to clean, but these ebook reader covers are relatively cheap and sometimes you really do get what you pay for. They aren’t bad. But you do need to consider how much protection you want to give your e-reader. If you are a sensible kind of gal that generally keeps such goodies in a handbag, or the device will mainly be used at home, you probably do not need anything that tough. But you should be aware that there are some much more secure products out there. Personally I would never purchase a leather jacket type ebook reader cover that did not hold the device really securely. There are other makes and models with really good central hinges that actually lock around the left hand side of the reader meaning it simply cannot slip out. I think that one feature is well worth a little extra, but maybe I am paranoid and a little clumsy!
If all you are after is a pretty pink Ebook Reader Cover then the U-Bop Neo-ORBIT Kindle Case is a contender. The Kindle device slips into the corner slots easily and when shut the clasp keeps everything contained. There are slots and things for keeping odd bits of paperwork, travel documents or cash inside too. I think this one is clearly aimed at the younger market rather than professionals that just wanted a splash of colour in their Kindle Accessories!
